Paraskevi

Paraskevi (Greek Παρασκευή ) is a Greek female first name.

Origin and Meaning

The Greek word Paraskevi ( Παρασκευή ) in German means both "Preparation" and " Friday". Erroneously, it is often assumed the first name thus refers to the Good Friday.

However, this is the preparation for each Sunday, the " day of the Lord " meant, as has traditionally been Fridays begun on Saturday, Sunday Mass and the corresponding hard " prepare ".
