Party Founding Museum
The Museum of the party's founding is a museum in the North Korean capital Pyongyang. It is located in the Haebangsan Street in the borough of Chung- guyŏk.
History
The building was built in 1923 during the Japanese colonial period. Until the independence of Korea by the Japanese Empire in 1945 it was used for the exhibition of the products of the province Heian Nando.
After independence, Kim Il-sung is said to have founded there the Party of Labour of Korea on 10 October 1945. Many of the first party meetings to have taken place here.
In 1970 the building was converted into a museum. The museum belonging is the house standing near by Kim Il-sung was living in the early years of his reign.
