Pasar Tono

The East Timorese market town Pasar Tono located in the district of Oecusse ( Suco Cunha, Pante Macassar subdistrict ) on the banks of the river Tono. Through him, the road of Macassar Pante across the river to Oesilo. The inhabitants belong to the ethnicity of Atoin Meto, which represents the majority of the population in the west of the island of Timor.

In Pasar Tono every Tuesday will be held the largest market of Oecusse. Several thousand people come together to trade in, food, animals and craft goods, such as Tai, the typical Timor Webtüchern.
