Pascal Krauss

Pascal "Panzer " Krauss ( born April 19, 1987 in Breisach ) is a German mixed martial arts fighter ( MMA) who fights at welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Life and career

Pascal Krauss was undefeated until May 5, 2012 in his MMA career and had almost all of his opponents stopped within the first two rounds. After a win against John Quinn on May 22, 2010 at the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship Right to Fight Event he is the current Cage Warriors welterweight champion. It continues the legacy with it the famous English MMA fighter Dan Hardy, who was not allowed to retain the title in 2008 when he finished a contract with the UFC. The well-known MMA sherdog.com website published an interview with Pascal for their " Prospect Watch " column on July 24, 2010. Sherdog.com mentioned him in an article of 28 July 2010 on ' the top 10 European undefeated MMA fighter of the future '.

Pascal Krauss ' martial arts career began at the age of 14 when he first started boxing. During his five- year career as a boxer, he won a German Junior Champion title and finished second at the German Championships. This second place was his only defeat in 18 boxing matches. He was also with the juniors of Freiburg Ringer association ' RKG Freiburg 2000 ' active. Through his contact with the judo black belt and Free Fighter Gregor Herb Pascal began in 2007 with Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu ( BJJ ) and soon played his first MMA fight. In 2009 he spent some time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to train under the renowned BJJ coach Roberto " Gordo " Correa. After eight weeks of training with other MMA fighters such as Antonio Braga Neto, Rafael dos Anjos, Delson Heleno and legend Vitor Belfort Pascal was awarded the Blue Belt. A journey through the United States in the spring of 2010 led Pascal, among others in Renzo Gracie's MMA Academy in New York and the Cesar Gracie MMA Team. In the latter Gym Pascal trained with the famous fighters Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez.

In August 2010, Pascal has signed a contract for a total of four fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His UFC debut came on 13 November 2010 at UFC 122 in Oberhausen, where he defeated Mark Scanlon from England on points.

Krauss had an injury sidelined for over a year after his fight against Scanlon. A long- planned fight against the British John Hathaway took place on 5 May 2012. Krauss lost the fight by unanimous decision.

On September 29, 2012 Krauss was to meet at UFC on Fuel TV 5 in Nottingham, England on the undefeated Icelander Gunnar Nelson. Just two weeks before the event, however, Krauss injured again and had to cancel the fight.
