Pastuchov

Pastuchov (Hungarian Nyitrapásztó - to 1907 Pásztó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 999 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Hlohovec, a part of the Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the hill country Nitrianska pahorkatina (part of the Slovak Danube lowland ) between the river valleys of Nitra Waag and the origin of the stream Blatina. The center is located at an altitude of 200 m nm and is located nine kilometers Hlohovecký and 26 km from Nitra.

History

Pastuchov was first mentioned in 1276 as Paztwh writing. With the exception of the years 1328 to 1363 it belonged to the estate of Freistadt. The population was and is mainly employed in agriculture.
