Pat McCormick (actor)

Pat McCormick, also known as Patrick McCormick, (* June 30, 1927 in Lakewood (Ohio ); † July 29, 2005 in Woodland Hills, California ) was an American actor and comedy writer.

His greatest success as an author celebrated McCormick in the 1960 's and 70 's, when he wrote for famous comedians like Henny Youngman, Phyllis Diller, Red Skelton and Bill Cosby. He has influenced the humor this time significantly. At times he appeared as a stand- up comedian on, but had only moderate success with it. Properly known of the nearly two -foot actor was in the 1970s and '80s with films such as Buffalo Bill and the Indians (as U.S. President Grover Cleveland) or Smokey and the Bandit ( as Big Enos Burdette, parts 1-3). He played primarily in comedies.

After a stroke McCormick in 1998 retired from the film business. Seven years later he died at the age of 77 years. His grave is at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery.
