Patagonia, Inc. is a Ventura (California, United States) -based manufacturer of outdoor clothing. Patagonia was founded in 1972 by Yvon Chouinard. The Patagonia logo represents the silhouette of Fitz Roy dar.

The company made in 2007 with 1287 employees achieved a turnover of 270 million U.S. $, 2011 from 414 million U.S. $.

Environmental Responsibility

Patagonia is a founding member of the Alliance One Percent for the Planet. This voluntary association of companies committed to donating 1 % of total sales or 10% of profits to environmental organizations.

Since 2011, Patagonia advertises its commitment to repairing, recycling, reuse and resale or transfer of ( worn ) clothing. In a full-page ad in the New York Times under the headline " Do not buy this jacket" (German: Buy this jacket not ) they had good environmental data of their products there, but they called for to buy only what you really need.
