Pathosray

Pathosray is an Italian progressive metal band from Udine, in the year 2000 under the name NDE was founded.

History

The band was formed in 2000 under the name of NDE founded by drummer Ivan Moni Bidin, guitarist and vocalist Marco Luca Luison Sandron. In 2001, the band recorded their first demo called Strange Kind of Energies that was released in 2002, the band then bore the name Pathosray. In 2006, bassist Fabio D' Amore and keyboardist Gianpaolo Rinaldi came to the band and recorded another demo called Deathless crescendo. In the fall of the recordings for the debut album Pathosray began. The album was recorded at Angel's Wings Studio of Nico Odorico and Mattia Sartori.

Then Alessio Velliscig came as the new guitarist for the band. The group sent the album to Intromental management and achieved with these a management contract. Shortly after, the band reached a deal with the label Sensory Records. The album was mixed at the Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by Tommy Hansen in July 2007. The cover was taken over by Mattias Norén of Progart Media. The album was in the U.S. on 27 October 2007, in Canada and Europe on October 26 and a month later in Japan through Marquee / Avalon. Following the publication of several appearances followed in Italy and in September 2008 a U.S. appearance at the ProgPower USA. Two weeks later, followed by a performance at the ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands.

The rest of 2008, the band spent with work on the new album Sunless Skies. The album was recorded by Ivan Moni Bidin and Fabio D' Amore in the Artesonika studios in Italy and mixed in Sweden by Johan Jens Bogren and Ornborg at Fascination Street Studios and mastered. The band reached a deal with Frontiers Records for the worldwide release. In Japan, the album through Soundholic Records appeared. The album was released on April 24 in Japan, on May 25 in Europe and on June 9 in the U.S.. On September 25, followed by a performance at the ProgPower Scandinavia in Denmark. Then guitarist Alessio Velliscig left the band and was replaced by Antonio Petris in the summer of 2010.
