Patricia Remak

Patricia Joan Remak - Boerenstam (* July 16, 1965 in Amsterdam) is a former Dutch politician of Surinamese origin. From 1998 to 2002 she was a member of the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament.

Life

Remak studied tax law at Leiden University and has worked at the Dutch Customs Administration. From 1997 to 1998 she was councilor for the Liberal Volkspartij voor de Vrijheid Democracy in the borough of Amsterdam Zuidoost. In 1998 she became a member of the Second Chamber. In 2003 she became a member of the Parliament of the province of North Holland. June 2005 she left the Group of the VVD and until 2007 was an independent member of parliament of the province.

In January 2007, Patricia Remak was convicted of fraud. She was a half-pay as a former member of the Second Chamber, although she was not entitled to do so because they received a substantial income as a member of the Parliament of the province of North Holland. In 2008, she was sentenced on appeal to six months in prison.
