Tallman collected at the age of 15 years first acting experience at the Red Barn Theatre in Michigan. After her college graduation, she moved to New York City.
Since 1981 she has played many mainly small roles in films and had some guest appearances on TV series. As a stunt woman turned her since 1987, among other stunts for Laura Dern in Jurassic Park, Gates McFadden in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Hudson Leick in Chill Factor and Geena Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight.
In the remake of the horror film Night of the living dead 1990, she played the role of Barbara and stood as "She Bitch" in Army of Darkness front of the camera.
She became known mainly through the role of Lyta Alexander in the science fiction series Babylon 5 and guest roles in several Star Trek series.
