Patrick Baxter

Patrick F. Baxter ( born October 1, 1891April 3, 1959 ) was an Irish farmer and politician.

Baxter was in 1923 for the Farmers Party in the constituency Cavan elected to the 4th Dáil Éireann. In 1927, his re-election in the same constituency. Since the 5th Dáil Éireann in 1927 but was re-dissolved, Baxter did not stay long Teachta Dala. His next political office he held from 1934, when he was elected for nine years in the Seanad Éireann of the Irish Free State. This, however, was abolished in May 1936.

From 1938 until his death Baxter was now a senator in the 2nd to 9th Seanad Éireann. During this time he served from 1954 to 1957 as President of the Senate ( Cathaoirleach ), and from May 1957 until his death as Deputy Senate President ( Leas - Chathaoirleach ).
