Patrick Wilson (actor)
Patrick Wilson ( born July 3, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia ) is an American actor.
Life
Wilson turned in 2004 with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum The Phantom of the Opera. In this musical, he played Raoul de Chagny, who is vying with the title character for the favor of the beautiful opera singer Christine Daaé. Thither he brought already singing experience. Wilson had earlier successes on Broadway with the musicals The Full Monty and Oklahoma! celebrated, for which he was nominated for Best Actor, respectively in a Musical for the prestigious Theatre Tony Award in 2001 and 2002.
A wider audience, he became known in 2003 for his role in Mike Nichols ' successful television adaptation of Tony Kushner's play Angels in America. For the part of homosexuals Joe Pitt, who flees into the marriage with a girlfriend, he received, among other things, a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series, Miniseries or Television Film. In 2009, he played a starring role in the comic book adaptation Watchmen - The Watchmen and lent the figure, Nite Owl II in video game Watchmen: The End Is Nigh his voice. Wilson 's international breakthrough came in 2010 when he both in the action film The A-Team - The Movie, and in the horror film Insidious took a starring role.
Since 2005, Wilson has been married to actress Dagmara Dominczyk and has two children.
