Paul A. Rothchild

Paul A. Rothchild ( born April 18, 1935 in New Jersey; † 30 March 1995 in Los Angeles ) was an American record producer of the 1960s and 1970s.

Rothchilds career began in the Boston folk scene. He worked from 1963 for the label Elektra Records. He is best known as the producer of The Doors. He also produced records by Phil Ochs, Tim Buckley, Janis Joplin, or Paul Butterfield Blues Band. He frequently collaborated with music producer Bruce Botnick, John Haeny and Fritz Richmond. Also in the film business Rothchild worked. He produced the soundtracks for The Rose and Oliver Stone's film The Doors.
