Paul Deighton, Baron Deighton

Paul Deighton Clive, Baron Deighton, KBE (born 18 January 1956 Carshalton, Surrey ) studied at Trinity College, Cambridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

From 1983 to 2005 he worked as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs, he was appointed member of the London 2005 Chief Executive Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Paul Deighton is considered as the driving force behind the revenue of 2 billion pounds sterling from the private sector, which allowed the organization of the Olympic Games 2012 in London. Jacques Rogge awarded him the Olympic Order for his work.

British Prime Minister David Cameron decided as part of a cabinet reshuffle in September 2012 that Paul Deighton from January 2013 assumes the office of the Commercial Secretary to the Treasury James Sassoon. In his new role Paul Deightons heard even there the settlement of the 2012 Olympic Games.

On November 1, 2012 was introduced in the County of Surrey as a life peer in the House of Lords as Baron Paul Deighton Deighton, of Carshalton.
