Paul Dike

Paul Dike (* in Issele - Uku, Aniocha North, Delta State, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian Lieutenant General of the Air Force ( Air Marshal ) and since 2008 Chief of Defence Staff.

Biography

After education at St Barnabas Primary School (Primary School) and the Ogbomosho Grammar School in Oyo State, he joined in 1973 as an officer cadet in the Air Force and was initially until 1975 graduate of the Defence Academy ( Defence Academy ) in Kaduna.

After he found a number of uses in the Air Force after he was trained on 22 January 1977 pilot ( Flight Officer ). On January 22, 1981 saw his promotion to Captain ( Flight Lieutenant ) and then on July 22, 1985 Major ( Squadron Leader ). On January 22, 1991, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel ( Wing Commander ), and on 22 January 1996 Colonel ( Group Captain ). As such, he was in 1997, first commander of the air fleet of the then President Sani Abacha.

After his death, he was appointed by Abacha's successor, Abdul Salami Abubakar commander of the Tactical Air Command ( Tactical Air Command ) in 1999. In this position took place on 22 January 2001 the first of his promotion to Air Commodore ( Brigadier General ) and then on 22 January 2004 to Major General (Air Vice Marshal ). On 30 May 2006 he was appointed as successor to Air Marshal Jonah Wuyep to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and transported at the same time also to Lieutenant General ( Air Marshal ).

On 21 August 2008 he was appointed as successor to Lieutenant General Owoye Azazi as Chief of Defense Staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
