Paul Girard Smith

Paul Girard Smith, and Gerald Paul Smith ( born September 14, 1894 in Omaha, Nebraska, † April 4, 1968 in San Diego, California ) was American screenwriter, actor and director.

Life

Smith was already writing his own musicals at the age of 10 years. In World War I he was stationed in a United States Marine Corps in Germany. In 1919 he returned to the U.S. and wrote henceforth very successful screenplays. Smith came through Buster Keaton to Hollywood to take notes on the film The General. In total, he wrote from 1926 to 1955 on the scripts for over 90 feature films.

Smith was married to Mary Alice Lundgren and had 4 children.
