Paul Klengel

Paul Klengel ( born May 13, 1854 in Leipzig, † April 24, 1935 ibid ), brother of Julius Klengel, was a German conductor and composer.

Klengel studied at the Leipzig Conservatory of Music and at the University of Leipzig and received his doctorate there with a thesis on the Aesthetics of Music Dr. phil. From 1881 to 1886 he conducted at the Leipzig Orchestra Association Euterpe. From 1888 to 1891 he was next to Karl Doppler Vice-Kapellmeister to the court orchestra in Stuttgart and has then returned to Leipzig. From 1898 to 1902 he conducted in New York City of German companies for choral music and then returned to Germany. Klengel was a versatile musician and though he sought a career as a concert musician or soloist, he was an accomplished violinist and pianist. He composed many works for violin and artful arrangements for various compilations.
