Paul Kronacker

Paul Baron Georges KRONACKER ( born November 5, 1897 in Antwerp, Antwerp Province; † 3 February 1994 chapels, Antwerp ) was a Belgian politician of the Liberal Party.

Biography

After school he studied chemistry at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and was after graduation in the sugar industry and as a manager involved in businesses.

His political career began as the Liberal candidate in 1939 with the election of the Senator for the province of Brabant. The Senate he was a member until 1946.

In September 1944 he was appointed by Prime Minister Hubert Pierlot as Minister without portfolio in the government and held this office under his successor, Achille Van Acker to August 1945. In August 1945 he took over in the second cabinet Van Acker 's Minister of State for imports and remained in the subsequent Cabinet by Camille Huysmans until March 1947 in office.

After retiring from the Senate, he was in 1946 elected a member of the House of Representatives and represented in this until 1968, the interests of the District lions. During this time he was on 11 November, 1958 to April 17, 1961 President of the Chamber of Deputies.

On April 5, 1963 he received an honorary title of Minister of State was awarded for his services. KRONACKER was father of the liberal politician Jacky Buchmann, who was among other things, 1985-1988 Minister of the middle class.
