Paul Mederow

Paul Friedrich Wolfgang Mederow (* June 30, 1887 in Stralsund, Mecklenburg- Vorpommern, † 17 December 1974 Brissago, Ticino, Switzerland ) was a German actor and radio speaker.

Life

After high school and university Paul Mederow in 1909 received his doctorate of philosophy. There was a drama school in Frederick Kayssler. First roles he played at the State Theatre in Cottbus and the City Theatre in Pforzheim. From 1915 to 1921 he was at the Schauspielhaus in Leipzig and theaters in Berlin and Vienna (People's Theatre) involved. Under the direction of Rudolf Beer Paul Mederow in Vienna appeared in a version of both parts of Goethe's Faust at the National Theatre.

Paul Mederow worked from 1919 in various film and in later years in television productions. Among them was the Nazi propaganda film Jud Suss, who may be listed in Germany as conditional movie only under strict conditions today. Paul Mederow but also played in crime and entertainment films like the 1931 M by Fritz Lang with Peter Lorre, Gustaf and Theo Lingen, Ripening youth of 1933 by Carl Froelich with Horst Beck, Heinrich George and Albert Florath and 1940 Kora Terry directed by Georg Jacoby with Marika Rokk, Will Quadflieg and Josef Sieber.

On television, he starred, among others, in two episodes of the series The Crime Museum. Paul Mederow worked as a spokesperson in some plays and also worked as a voice actor.

Paul Mederow published in 1925 the band The Play of Doctor Faust. Lifted out of the tragedy of two parts for the performance in one evening.
