Paul Mounsey

Paul Mounsey ( born April 15, 1959 in Ayrshire ) is a composer and producer from Scotland.

A graduate with honors from Trinity College of Music in London, where he studied with Richard Arnell ( piano and composition), he wrote for film, television, theater, advertising, and for the Latin American pop market. During his studies he met his wife Dorinha know and lived 20 years in Brazil. He taught for a short time at Goldsmiths College before he carried on as creative director of Play It Again, one of the largest commercial music houses in Brazil. He also wrote articles on various aspects of music. He wrote pop hits for Mexican boy bands (eg Magneta ), commissions received for chamber and multimedia works, lived in indigenous communities in the Amazon region and took their music and released five solo albums to date. Mounseys music has been used in television and cinema advertising for tourism such as VisitScotland. He currently lives in Los Angeles where he works as a composer, orchestrator and programmer in the film industry.

The long list of famous musicians with whom Mounsey worked includes Etta James, Jimmy Cliff and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
