Paul Nyman

Paul Mauritz Nyman ( born November 3, 1929 in Vyborg ) is a former Finnish cyclist.

Paul Nyman was one of the best cyclists in Finland in the 1950s. In total he won in these years (at least) 25 Finnish championships in - One and the Team Pursuit, in the 1000 -meter time trial on the track, road race and individual time trial on the road. He also set several Finnish records. Twice - in 1954 and 1955 - he drove the International Peace Race.

Thrice started Nyman at the Olympic Games: 1952 in Helsinki in the road race and in the team pursuit, 1956 in Melbourne and 1960 in Rome in the road race, sprint and time trial. His best Olympic placing was the eleventh place in the road race in Melbourne in 1956. After the Games in Rome Paul Nyman ended his active career, but the cycling remained connected as a functionary of the Finnish Association.
