Paul Schwartz

Paul Schwartz ( born 1956 in New York) is a music producer, composer, arranger, conductor and pianist. His music can be described as a mixture of chill-out and neo-classicism. Its basic elements are vocals, piano, violins and electronic sounds. He worked in many songs of his albums with female vocalists Lisbeth Scott and Rebecca Luker.

Biography

Paul Schwartz is the son of composer and producer Arthur Schwartz and actress and dancer Mary Schwartz, he is the half-brother of U.S. Radio Stars Jonathan Schwartz. At age four, he received music lessons and began at the age of 6 years to play the piano.

He retired at the age of 12 years to London, England and later studied at the Royal College of Music, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in composition and conducting. After graduating, he worked as a pianist and assistant conductor for musicals in London's West End and as a conductor for Marie Rambert Ballet Rambert. In 1981 he returned to the U.S. and was assistant conductor of the Washington National Opera in Washington, DC. Thereafter, he worked as assistant conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these activities, he turned to the musical and worked as musical director for shows such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sing & Dance and The Phantom of the Opera. He composed some pieces for ballets and other stage works, and then moved as a music producer to Astor Place Records, where he worked in collaboration with Mario Grigorov the first CD of the Aria series produced in 1997, which appeared under the label of the Café del Mar compilation. The three CDs of the series achieved considerable success in the field of neo-classicism.
