Paul Torday

Paul Torday (* August 1, 1946; † December 18, 2013 ) was a British writer. He became famous for his debut novel Salmon Fishing in Yemen.

Life

Paul Torday studied English Literature at Pembroke College, Oxford. He worked for over thirty years as an entrepreneur in Engineering before a long cherished dream fulfilled - to write. His novel, Salmon Fishing in Yemen was filmed in 2011 by Lasse Hallström.

Paul Torday was the father of two sons and lived with his family in a small castle near the River North Tyne.
