Paul Winter (athlete)

Paul Winter ( born February 6, 1906 in Rappoltsweiler; † 22 February 1992 Usson -du -Poitou ) was a French discus thrower.

A native of Alsace Athlete in 1931, 1933, 1935 and 1937 French champion. He presented three French discus throw records on, the last with 50.71 meters in 1932. As a French record this length was not until 1957 outbid.

At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles Paul Winter with 47.85 meters finished in third place behind the two Americans John Anderson and Henri LaBorde. In the Shot Put Two years later he finished with 13.14 meters of space at the 13th European Athletics Championships 1934 in Turin Winter won with 47.09 meter silver behind the Swedish record holder Harald Andersson. At the Olympics 1936, Paul Winter did not qualify for the final. 1938 at the European Championships in Paris, he reached 42.68 meters square 13

Paul Winter was 1.74 m tall and weighed 91 kg in his playing days.
