Paul Zweifel

Paul Zweifel ( * June 30, 1848 in Hoengg, today Zurich, † August 13 1927 in Leipzig) was a Swiss gynecologist. He was a pioneer in the study of fetal physiology and from 1876 to 1887 director of the Erlangen University Women's Hospital.

Paul Heinrich doubt father was a doctor in doubt Hoengg. Paul doubts studied at the University of Zurich medicine. In 1872 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on adnexal and became assistant to Adolf Gusserow. With Gusserow he went to the newly founded University of Strasbourg. There he completed his habilitation in 1874. During the same year he became a full professor at the University of Erlangen. In 1876 he was appointed director of Erlanger Women's Hospital. In 1887, he was the successor of Carl Credé professor at the University Women's Hospital Leipzig. According to him, the doubt - handle is named. 1892 was a member of the Leopoldina doubt.

His son Erwin H. Zweifel (1885 - ) was also a gynecologist and was an Associate Professor at the University Women's Hospital in Munich.
