Paulo Eduardo Andrade Ponte ( * June 24, 1931 in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, † March 15, 2009 in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil) was Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão.

Life

Paulo Eduardo Andrade Ponte studied from 1945 to 1949 at the seminar in Fortaleza and from 1950 to 1954 at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He received on April 3, 1954 in Rome, the priest. In 1957 he received his doctorate in dogmatic theology at the Gregorian University. He initially worked in pastoral ministry, later professor of dogmatic theology at the diocesan seminary in Fortaleza and also spiritual. From 1958 to 1971 he was Professor and Director of the ICRE - Institute for Religious Studies (Instituto de Ciências Religiosas ) in Fortaleza.
