Pecorino (grape)

Pecorino is an indigenous white grape variety of central Italy and in the regions of Abruzzo ( provinces of Chieti, L' Aquila and Teramo ), Lazio ( province of Rieti), trademarks ( provinces of Ancona, Ascoli Piceno and Macerata ) and Umbria grown. In 1999 213 hectares under vine were still applicable.

The early maturing, grew joyful variety only produces fluctuating yields. The wines produced from their wines are fruity and have a fine acidity. Their wines find their way into DOC - Wines Controguerra, Falerio dei Colli Ascolani and DOCG wine Offida. See also the article Viticulture in Italy.
