Pécsi MFC

The Pécsi Mecsek FC, ​​also Pécsi MFC, or shortly PMFC, is a football club from the south western Hungarian city of Pécs agent and owes its name to the nearby Mountain Mecsek. The club currently plays in the top league in Hungary.

History

The club was established in 1950 as Pécsi Doja (named after the peasant leader György Dózsa ) was founded. The club colors are red and black. The crew of the PMFC bear its home games at Mecsekaljai Stadium, which has around 14,000 spectators.

Pécs was defeated in 1978 at his first entrance into the Hungarian Cup final after extra Ferencvaros Budapest with 2:4. In the second part in the cup final 1987 PMFC also had no success and lost against Újpesti Dózsa 2:3. It was not until the third attempt in 1990, Pécs was able to secure a 2-0 victory over Budapest Honvéd his only previous title. In between the PMFC 1986 could reach a respectable second place and thus the runner-up in the premier league.

At the end of the season 2006/ 07 the Pécsi MFC rose by a total of 44 top-flight seasons starting from the Nemzeti National Championship I, however, managed its chances of promotion.
