Peggy Michel

Margaret " Peggy " Michel ( born February 2, 1949) is a former American tennis player.

Career

Peggy Michel won in her career, which lasted from 1960 to 1977, three Grand Slam competitions in women's doubles. She took all the tracks together with the former Australian world number First Evonne Goolagong. At the Australian Open in 1974, the double pairing Kerry Harris and Kerry Melville defeated in the final in straight sets 7-5, 6-3. The tournament success they could repeat the following year against Margaret Smith Court and Olga Morozova. The third triumph celebrated Michel and Goolagong in 1974 at the Wimbledon Championships. They defeated Helen Gourlay and Karen Krantzcke with 2:6, 6:4, 6:3.
