Peisistratus (Odyssey)

Peisistratus (Greek Πεισίστρατος ) is a person of Greek mythology.

Pisistratus is a son of Nestor, Homer is given as his mother Eurydice, however, in the Libraries of Apollodorus Anaxibia. His siblings are Peisidike, Polycaste, Perseus, Stratichos, Aretos, Echephron, Antilochus and Thrasymedes.

He is the youngest son of Nestor, who lives as the last unmarried in his father's house, as the strongest of the children he is the one who kills the animal at a Kuhopfer in honor of the god Poseidon with the ax. As a friend of Telemachus he accompanied this with his journey from Pylos to Sparta.

According to Herodotus, the Athenian tyrant Pisistratus was named after him.
