Pen-Ek Karaket

Pen -Ek Karaket (born 18 March 1990) is a Thai Taekwondo. It starts in the weight class up to 58 kg.

Karaket played his first international title fights at the Junior Asia Cup 2006 in Vietnam. In the category up to 51 kg, he won the title. The breakthrough in the adult area, he succeeded in 2010. He won in the category up to 58 kg at the Asian Games in Guangzhou and silver at the Asian Championship in Astana gold. In both finals he met Wei Chen- yang. In his first World Championship 2011 in Gyeongju, he reached the second round. At the International Olympic qualifying competition in Baku Karaket won the final of the class to 58 kg compared Yulis Mercedes and secured the participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He was one of the biggest Thai medal hopes for the games, but was defeated Óscar Muñoz in the fight for the bronze medal.

Karaket studied architecture in Bangkok.
