Penny Fuller

Life

Fuller attended Northwestern University in Illinois before moving to New York in order to pursue an acting career. In 1962 she had her first appearance on Broadway in the production of The Moon Besieged, which was, however, listed only once. From the following year until 1967 she was the replacement cast for lead actress Elizabeth Ashley in Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park, and from 1966 to 1969, the replacement casting the character Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Between 1970 and 1972 she played alongside Lauren Bacall in the musical version of All About Eve. For their performance at the theater, she was nominated five times for a Tony Award.

In addition, they had since the mid- 1960s also occasional television roles, but it was only in the 1970s became more frequent there roles. She guest starred in various television series such as The Six Million Dollar Man, Ironside or FBI. In 1982 she won an Emmy Award for the television play The Elephant Man.
