Periphery (band)

Periphery is a Founded in 2004, Progressive Metal band with some metalcore influences from Bethesda, Maryland. The band is characterized by the low 7- string guitars and the most clear voice of the singer Spencer Sotelo.

History

In 2004, Misha ( "Bulb " ) Mansoor, the band Periphery. Looking for new members he met the singer Spencer Sotelo, who know two guitarist Jake Bowen and Alex Bois and the drummer Matt Halpern and bassist Tom Murphy. They started the first songs together and started to take the way a video blog on YouTube and also created a profile on MySpace. Over time, Periphery attracted the attention of many metal fans on, as they and asked many of their songs online for free download. In addition, always new video blogs published. Due to the great feedback they decided to do more videos and record new songs, which ultimately led to great success.

When the label Distort Inc., Sumerian Records and Roadrunner Records became aware of the band Periphery 's breakthrough. In 2010 she took part in the metal festival Summer Slaughter; also appeared on 28 May 2010, the debut album Periphery, which is sold in the U.S. under the label Sumerian Records in Canada by Distort Inc. and in Europe through Roadrunner Records. From 16 July to 15 August 2010 played with the band at The Trash and Burn Tour alongside bands such as Born of Osiris and Kittie.

The band was created in spring 2012 as the opening act for Dream Theater on tour in Europe.
