Perneb

Perneb is the name of an early Egyptian priest and king's son, who lived at the beginning of the 2nd dynasty and worked.

About the person

Pernebs name appears on jar seals from the gallery grave B under the causeway to Unas 's pyramid at Saqqara, which is attributed to the kings Hetepsechemui and Nebre alike. Therefore it can not be accurately determined even if Perneb was the son of Hetepsechemui or Nebre. His burial place is unknown.

Perneb wearing a very rare for the early period Title: He was a priest of the Sopdu. Whose cult center was at that time probably in the eastern Nile Delta in a city that is called on the Tonsiegeln " Iptiu ". The place could not yet be localized geographically.
