Peroni Brewery

Birra Peroni SpA is an Italian brewery, which is part of the SABMiller group.

History

In 1846 the company Birra Peroni by Francesco Peroni (* 1818) was founded in Vigevano. 1864, a second brewery was opened near Rome. The brewery became known in the 1950s nationwide and has established itself in the Italian market.

The Birra Raffo brewery was daufgekauft 1961. 1963 new beer was the nephew Francesco Peroni, Carlo Peroni, brewed, the Nastro Azzurro was baptized. The special thing about this beer was that a quarter of the crop was in the original recipe replaced by Italian corn. This corn is from the northern Italian region nostrano, near Bergamo.

Since 2003, Birra Peroni is part of the SABMiller Group and is distributed worldwide.
