Perrignier

Perrignier is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Perrignier is located at 550 m above sea level. M., eight kilometers south-southwest of the town of Thonon -les- Bains ( straight line ). The village is located in the Bas -Chablais, in an environment marked by moraines of glacial Rhone glacier hills at the northern foot of the Savoy Alps ( Mont Forchat ).

History

Some finds from the Neolithic suggest a very early settlement of the municipality. Around 1150 the Zisterzienserpriorat was founded in the 13th century transformed the Abbey into a ( Abbaye du Lieu ) and was destroyed in 1536 during the conquest of the Bernese. From 1974 to the end of 2000 was also Draillant to Perrignier. Since it is an independent municipality again.

Attractions
