Pertteli

Pertteli [ pɛrt ɛli ː ] ( Sw S: t Bertils ) is a former municipality in southwestern Finland. In early 2009 it was incorporated into the town of Salo.

Pertteli is in the countryside Varsinais -Suomi 10 km away from the center of Salo. The state highway 1 from the capital Helsinki, 60 kilometers away in the Turku performs Pertteli. The community Pertteli had an area of ​​156.12 km ². The community had three centers of settlement ( taajama ): Kaivola, Inkere and Hähkänä. In all three population centers there is a school. The population of Pertteli was last 4,036. The community was monolingual Finnish speakers. Pertteli is a center of the plastics industry. The largest resident in the municipality company is a manufacturer of reflectors.

Pertteli was probably the beginning of the 15th century to a chapel of the parish church Uskela. The Church of Pertteli, a stone church from the early 16th century, is dedicated to St. Bartholomew. The name Pertteli is a Finnish parody of the Swedish form of the name Bertil for Bartholomew. The saint is also visible in the former municipal arms. The municipality was created in 1860 Pertteli connected with the separation of the management of the rural communities of the church administration. Early in 2009, Pertteli was incorporated along with the eight municipalities Halikko, Kiikala, Kisko, Kuusjoki, Muurla, Perniö, Särkisalo and Suomusjärvi to Salo.
