Pete Coors

Pete Coors ( born September 20, 1946 in Golden, Colorado) is an American businessman and a conservative politician.

As a great-grandson of Adolph Kuhr (1847-1929) Coors is one of the heirs of the Molson Coors Brewing Company. Until 2011, he served there as chairman.

Coors graduated from the Phillips Exeter Academy and an engineering degree from Cornell University. At the University of Denver in 1970, he made his MBA. The Johnson & Wales University awarded him an honorary doctorate.

2004 Coors competed in Colorado for a seat in the Senate of the United States. Within the Republican Party, he won the primary for the succession of Ben Nighthorse Campbell vs. Bob Schaffer, but then he lost the actual election to Democrat Ken Salazar with 47:51 percent of the vote.

Coors is married and has six children.
