Bob Schaffer

Robert Warren " Bob" Schaffer ( born July 24, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio ) is an American politician of the Republican Party. He was from 1997 to 2003 a member of the House of Representatives for the 4th electoral district of Colorado. Previously, he was a member from 1987 to 1996 the Senate of Colorado.

1984 Bob Schaffer earned his degree in political science at the University of Dayton in Ohio. He lives with his wife Maureen in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Schaffer are Roman Catholic, and have five children.

In 2004 he ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate, but failed in the internal party primaries to Pete Coors, who in turn was defeated Ken Salazar. In May 2007, he announced his renewed candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2008. His Democratic opponent was Congressman Mark Udall, who won with 52.8 percent of the vote and became the successor of the Republican Wayne Allard.
