William R. Eaton

William Robb Eaton (born 17 December 1877 in Nova Scotia, Canada, † December 16, 1942 in Denver, Colorado ) was an American politician. Between 1929 and 1933 he represented the first electoral district of the state of Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Already in 1878 William Eaton came with his parents to the United States where they settled in Boston (Massachusetts ). In 1881 the family moved on to Denver, where he attended the public schools. Later he was employed until 1901 in a bank. Between 1901 and 1909 he worked in various professions. He was also a 1898-1904 member of the National Guard of Colorado. After studying law at the University of Denver and its made ​​in 1909 admitted to the bar, he began practicing in his new profession in Denver.

Between 1909 and 1913 he was a deputy district attorney for the second judicial district of Colorado. Eaton was a member of the Republican Party and was 1915-1918, and again 1923-1926 the Senate from Colorado. In 1928, he was elected in the first district of the state in the U.S. House of Representatives. After a re-election in 1930 he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1933 two legislative sessions. In the 1932 elections he failed just as again two years later to Lawrence Lewis.

After the end of his time in Congress, William Eaton resumed the lawyer. He died one day before his 65th birthday in Denver and was also buried there. He was the nephew of Congressman Charles Aubrey Eaton (1868-1953) from New Jersey.
