Peter Hobbs (actor)

Peter Hobbs ( born January 18, 1918 in Etretat, France, † January 2, 2011 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Peter Hobbs was the son of Dr. Austin L. Hobbs and Mabel Foote Hobbs. He was born in the French spa town of Etretat and grew up in New York City. He attended Solebury School and then studied acting at Bard College. During the Second World War he was among the pioneers and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. After he previously debuted in 1942 with the play Under This Roof on Broadway, he returned after the war returned to Broadway. Since the 1950s, he played sporadically in television series with and from the mid-1960s also regularly in film.

After a short illness Hobbs died on 2 January 2011 at the age of 92 years at his home in Santa Monica. He left behind his wife, with whom he was married for 28 years and had three daughters together, two stepsons, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
