Peter Imbert, Baron Imbert

Peter Michael Imbert, Baron Imbert of New Romney in the County of Kent Kt CVO QPM (* April 27, 1933 ) is a British former police officer and politician, who was last seen between 1987 and 1993 Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service and since 1999 as Life peer member of the House of Lords was.

Life

After visiting the Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone Imbert joined in 1953, the Police of the Metropolitan Police Service and there rose Superintendent until 1976 to Detective Chief on. After he was first an assistant and then deputy chief of police of Surrey, before it was between 1979 and 1985 as the successor to David Holdsworth Chief (Chief Constable ) of the Police Thames Valley. After his retirement from active police service Imbert served from 1992 to 1993 Member of the Advisory Committee on Criminal Law as well as between 1993 and 2000 as a member of Ministerialberatungsgremiums for the royal parks in London and was nigh 1994-2008 CEO of Capital Eye Ltd. He also served on the committee for public policy of the Royal Automobile Club between 1993 and 2000 as a member.

By Letters Patent of 10 February 1999 Imbert was also the magistrate of Greater London in 1998, when Life peer charged with the title of Baron Imbert, of New Romney in the County of Kent in the peerage.
