Peter López

Peter López Santos ( born September 23, 1981 in Irvine ) is a Peruvian Taekwondo practitioners, who took until 2004 for the U.S.. It starts at middleweight.

López spent several years of his childhood in Peru, the homeland of his parents, and thus began Taekwondo. At age nine his family returned to the United States. López started in his first international success for the United States. In 1998 he was in Istanbul in the class up to 59 kg Junior World Champion. Two years later he was able to win his first World Championship medal to 62 kg at the World Championships in Jeju -si also in the adult area with silver in the class. At the 2003 World Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he reached the semi-finals and won bronze medal again.

In 2004, López introduced in Peru a Taekwondo course and decided a little later, in the future to start for Peru. Further international success came from initially, only by winning the silver medal at the Pan American Games in 2007 in Rio de Janeiro, he returned to winning ways. During American Olympic Qualification Tournament 2011 in Santiago de Querétaro, he qualified for his second Olympic Games 2012 in London.
