Peter Simpson (footballer born 1945)

Peter Frederick Simpson ( born January 13, 1945 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk ) is a former English footballer.

Life and career

Simpson began his career in football as assistant equipment manager 1960. 1961 he joined the youth team of Arsenal FC. A year later he became a professional. His debut for the Gunners he was against local rivals Chelsea FC on 14 March 1964. Initially had the midfielder on the bench take place, but as of the 1965/66 season he became a regular in London. In the summer of 1967 and 1968 he was loaned each for a few months on U.S. clubs.

With Arsenal Simpson won once the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and the English in 1971 consisting of Double Cup and FA Cup. After many injuries, he ended his career in early 1978 on the island and still played almost two years in the North American Soccer League for the New England Tea Men
