Peter Sís

Peter Sís ( born May 11, 1949 in Brno ) is an American picture book artists and animators of Czech origin.

Sís studied from 1968 to 1974 at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. During the Prague Spring in 1968 he ran own beat and rock music radio program and made ​​illustrations for a political student magazine. 1976 wrote his first book illustrations to fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. 1977 was followed by studies at London's Royal College of Art during a working stay in the USA in 1984, decided Sís not to return to his homeland. In the same year, the poster design for the film Amadeus by Milos Forman was born.

In 2003 he was MacArthur Fellow.
