Petit Combin

The Petit Combin is a 3'663 m high summit on the northern edge of the Grand Combin group in the Valais Alps. On some cards, the height is 3'672 m specified.

The Petit Combin is between the Corbassièregletscher the east and the Val d' Entremont in the west, on the border between the municipalities and Bagnes Liddes. The summit is bounded by steep glaciers in the north and in the east ( Petit Combin Glacier and Glacier Follâts ) and from the steep rock walls of the Aiguilles de Boveire in the West. The terrain is gentle south to Combin de Corbassière ( 3'716 m above sea level. M. ).

The Petit Combin is a popular glacier tour in summer and in winter. The normal route of ascent (SAC scale: ZS ≈ UIAA scale: III ) comes from Fionnay ( 1,490 m asl. ) In the Bagnes, on the François-Xavier Bagnoud cottage ( former Panossiere hut, 2,645 m above sea level. M. ) and the Corbassièregletscher, with final climb from the southeast. The summit is also a permitted heliport.
