Petr Kellner

Petr Kellner ( born May 20, 1964 in Ceska Lipa ) is a Czech entrepreneur. He is particularly active in the insurance industry and is regarded as the richest person in the Czech Republic.

Life

1986 closed waiter his studies at the University of Economics in Prague and began his professional career at the state-owned foreign trade company Strojimport Praha.

In 1991 he founded together with Milan Vinkler and state Sklo Union the financial institution PPF, which is now (2009) is the largest financial service providers in the Czech Republic and is almost entirely located in Kellner's property. As of 1991, PPF bought stakes of former People's plants that were privatized. The largest revenue achieved PPF but with retail and consumer loans and insurance. PPF since 1997 shareholder of Česká pojišťovna, the biggest insurance in the Czech Republic, and holds 49 percent since 2007 in a joint venture, has introduced its entire activities in Eastern Europe in the Generali. In February 2009, the sale of the Czech pharmaceutical company Zentiva to Sanofi -Aventis brought a several hundred million euros. In Russia, the PPF aims at a majority stake in the insurance company and has Ingosstrach in March 2009, already 38 percent of the shares.

In the Forbes list of billionaires for 2012 Kellner with assets of 10.4 billion U.S. dollars, out on place 106 worldwide. Waiter lives with his wife and children in a suburb of Prague.
