Petrom

The Romanian oil and gas group OMV Petrom SA is a subsidiary of the Austrian OMV Group ( 51%). Petrom has 35 813 employees (as of 2007). The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in Aktinenindex BET 10.

Petrom produces oil and gas in Romania and Kazakhstan. The daily production is approximately 217,000 barrels of oil equivalent, the reserves will be around 1 billion barrels. In two refineries it is processed and sold through a network of filling stations in Romania and Moldova. Since 2006, Petrom also operates the marketing business (Retail, Commercial) of OMV in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia. In addition, Petrom has a fertilizer plant in the south of the country.

Petrom was founded in its form as a state oil company in 1997. 2004 privatized the state, the company, with the OMV was awarded the contract.
