Petrovac, Serbia
Petrovac na Mlavi ( Serbian Cyrillic Петровац на Млави ) is a Serbian Opština in Okrug Braničevo. It is located about 35 kilometers south- east of Požarevac between the two major cities Požarevac and Bor municipality had 46 414 inhabitants in 2010 on an area of 655 square kilometers.
Here you will find important archaeological sites of Vinca culture (5500 BC). The municipality belongs to the settlement Belovode was a center of copper metallurgy, whereupon large amounts of slag found point. In Belolice, ten kilometers from Belovode, a copper mine was discovered. Archaeologists assume that BC to the late antique period was from 5500 into operation.
