Petrus Matthias Snickers

Petrus Matthias Snickers (* April 11, 1816 in Rotterdam, † April 2, 1895 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch clergy and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Utrecht.

Life

On July 31, 1877 Snickers was first appointed bishop of Haarlem. The solemn consecration took place on September 2, 1877, and was celebrated in the Cathedral of Haarlem. As principal consecrator acted Archbishop Andreas Ignatius Schaepman, Primate of the Netherlands. The Mitkonsekrator was Archbishop Henricus van Beek. After about six years ago, on April 3, 1883, he was appointed Archbishop of Utrecht. Overall, Snickers was 17 years a bishop, until his death on 2 April 1895.
